Whales are commonly seen off the coast of BWK-BCN in the North Mediterranean Sea. Pregnant whales have an elevated body temperature. In an effort to harness this, while providing the whales with a medical check, pens have been built for the pregnant whales. During this time, the whales heat the water in the pen, which is then funnelled to the town as a source of heating.
